Originating from a distinguished family of musicians Nakia's passion for music was nurtured from an early age, leading her to develop a profound understanding of the art form. This allowed Nakia to capture the junior calypso monarch title on two occasions, 2014 and 2016.
Having a natural talent to captivate people with her melodic voice, Nakia has received a great deal of recognition and admiration within the industry. Nakia's unwavering commitment to preserving the rich heritage of calypso has inspired her to continue her journey as a calypsonian and join the Senior Calypso Monarch competition.
