Anguilla Summer Festival Celebrates Sponsors and Partners at Opening Night Partnership Ceremony
July 22, 2026Anguilla — August 23, 2026 — Miss Anguilla 2026, Akéma Carty, received a warm and celebratory welcome home on Sunday, August 23, as family, friends, officials, members of the Miss Anguilla community, and scores of supporters gathered at the Blowing Point Ferry Terminal to celebrate her outstanding achievement and triumphant return to Anguilla.

Upon her arrival, Akéma was officially welcomed by representatives of the Miss Anguilla Committee and the Anguilla Festivals Development Commission before being escorted to the VIP Lounge for a special reception held in her honour.
During the reception, Ms. Amber Woodley, CEO of the Anguilla Festivals Development Commission and Chairperson of the Miss Anguilla Committee, delivered remarks congratulating Akéma on her remarkable accomplishment and recognizing the pride she has brought to Anguilla through her representation on the regional stage.
Additional remarks were delivered by Mr. Romare Kelsick, Chairperson of the Anguilla Festivals Development Commission, who expressed his immense pride in Akéma’s achievement, highlighting the significance of her success and the positive representation she continues to provide for Anguilla.
Mr. Cordell Richardson, Honourable Parliamentary Secretary Infrastructure, Housing & natural Resources, also offered congratulatory remarks on behalf of the Government and people of Anguilla. He commended Akéma for her dedication, confidence, and outstanding representation, emphasizing that the entire island shares in the pride of her accomplishment. He further expressed his best wishes for her continued success throughout her reign and in future pageants and endeavors.
Following the official remarks, a celebratory toast was raised in Akéma’s honour, recognizing her achievement and wishing her continued success.
Akéma was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of family members, friends, supporters and well-wishers who welcomed her home in grand style. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and national pride as the community came together to celebrate one of Anguilla’s own.
Special congratulations and heartfelt appreciation are also extended to Akéma’s chaperones for their tremendous hard work, dedication, guidance and unwavering support throughout her journey. Their commitment behind the scenes played an invaluable role in preparing and supporting Akéma and their contributions to this outstanding achievement are sincerely recognized and celebrated.
